Bennett Peak Hike

For Tuesday's hike 6 patriots paraded up to the top of Bennett Peak, observed sheets of rain coming from the south and then veering away to the Northwest. After half a sandwich, we headed down with dispatch, encountering only a few drops of rain.

Despite the drought, flowers abound above timberline. They're a little smaller in size than normal.

Next Tuesday, Judy and  I'll be hiking with our granddaughter in central Colorado, perhaps checking out  lower slopes of Mt. Elbert. Can someone lead a vigorous hike that day?

July 4 is here and our (ebbing) free society is still worth celebrating! (I hope you share my optimism.) Creede is doing it tomorrow (4th) with a parade and play and other festivities.  It looks like fireworks are out.

We had the pleasure of the company of Dr. Mike Brunsvold from beyond Creede, whose energy and fitness are impressive.  Welcome!
