ARCHULETA HIKE 6-12-17

Wayne led us up the trail, which was easy until we got to the
Wilderness area, then it was an obstacle course to clamber over all
the deadfalls on the trail.

Its going to take a lot of hand work to clear the way......

On the way back we went around the lake, this trail was cleared 2
weeks ago and there were 3 frees down on it already.

Wayne will be leading us again  Wednesday, come out and join the fun!

East alder hike 6-14-17

Wayne started us out from the main road, 1 1/2 miles to the trail and
then another mile on the trail. We gained about 1100 feet elevation in
2 1/2 miles, pretty steep and loose rock made the footing a little
treacherous.  But nobody got hurt or lost so it was a good
hike...........

Join us Monday for another hike in our beautiful country.....

Moonlight outing 6-8-17

We persevered and ended up having a really nice evening for our
outing. We had a couple of high gusts that scattered some cups, plates
and a couple of smaller kids, a few sprinkles but by the time we
finished our dogs, brats, BROWNIES, we had nice weather.

We were treated to a delightful time by Conner and Anika (Bonnies
grandkids) and Jada Fillipi, these younger generations are happy to
share themselves with others  Thank you!!

We hiked over to the overlook, this was the first time for several
folks, they were impressed by how visible the whole valley was. The
moon was bright by this time so we enjoyed it on the return hike.

However, when we got back to the campfire, we discovered not one
s'more was ready to eat and tragically, nary a trace of any s'mores
was to be found!!

Thanks to everybody for making tonight a pleasant evening and
hopefully, making a memory for the youngsters to take away with them.

small trees off the trail, lifting one large one off the trail and
clearing small stuff off the trail.
we have a lot of trees left to clear, will do it anorther day..........
We found wild geraniums, strawberries, chokecherries, arnicas, lots of
yellow yarrow and several other varieties of flowers.

Tomorrow night is the moonlight outing at 630 on Shaw Mesa, hope you
