Model T Park

We made it this time! Seven of us trudged up the long trail to Model T Park. The nature encounters, the vast views of our exciting topography, and the dynamics of fire recovery made the strain worthwhile. We saw and heard about 40 elk waiting for us in the Park, then leaving it or us. Colorful tent caterpillars were busy pruning 10' tall aspens, causing a few "yuks". Vetch, grasses, golden banner, wild rose, iris, and a dozen other flowers seem to be holding the soil burned in 2002.

The dust and ash are gone. A stark beauty with exciting regrowth makes this an interesting and inspiring place to stroll.

Tewksberry Trail (#842)

The ride was short, rough, and exciting, but a good ride. Tewksberry Trail(#842) is open all the way. It is a very rough trail. Definitely not for beginners or inexperienced riders. Thanks to all that went along. George

Cross Creek Trail(#812) is also open all the way through.

La Garita Creek

What a group and what a ride. We made it across La Garita Creek and Harry got to use the chain saw, so every one had a good day. It was a lot of fun. Have a good week. -- George
