We hiked up the trail about 1/2 mile and then took off up through the timber until we found the very old logging trail we were looking for. We followed it for a couple of miles, until we were above (East) of upper Beaver CG. We saw lots of grouse, a big black bear about 2 minutes after we found its scat. It was so black its coat shone in the sunlight! After spooking the bear we went another half mile towards Million Res. and found a lunch spot. After lunch we took off back to the trucks, making a small detour along the way......we got back to the Visitor Center just in time for the snow squall coming down the canyon from Creede.
THE MONDAY HIKE WILL BE AT 9 AM SO DON'T BE LATE..........
