Del Norte Peak

What a glorious place to put one foot before the !
Awe-inspiring alpine scenes all around us.
An elk herd resting on the peak, then leading us down the hill.
Our state flower flaunting its magnificence.
A mother posing to protect her fledglings.
Resting in the alpine grass and rocks and breezes as we eat lunch.
Then gazing up at where we were from Linda Treibly's beautiful deck.
This, indeed, is true wealth, joy, and inspiration.

Enjoy more walks into the wild Rio Grande NF on Thursday and Tuesday.
Meet before 8 a.m. at Rickel Park in South Fork. -- Doug
