Beaver to Tewksberry hike

Plan A was to go up the Del Norte peak road but it was still closed so Plan B went into effect!  We started out at Beaver Res. dam and went up the hill to the park SW of the res.  The old beaver pond was news to all of us, we hadn't noticed it before. Bob Munro found the old log cabin we were looking for, then we hiked over to the Tewksberry trail and bushwhacked back part of the way until we found the old crossbuck fence we were searching for.  The old trail marker post in the park  is gone, no remains of it to be found......

The day was a great one for being outdoors, no clouds at all and we stayed in the trees out of any wind.

The young tree growing out of the stump bewildered us, we will have to get a foresters opinion as to how this happened.  The stump is very old, the young tree approx. 15 years old.....

Wayne will be leading us on a hike Monday, meet at the VCPL at 9AM, bring a lunch, water and a couple of friends....
