Bob Munro & Pat Fluck led Bob Seago & I up a trail that starts right here in South Fork, just behind Doc's Sporting Goods. After we got up a ways, I led them up to the ridge approaching Sentinel Mtn., that is the easiest way to the top. We followed the ridge to the base of the mtn. and found a couple of game trails that took us up to the shoulder of the mtn. and then a not too difficult way on up to the top. We got there about 1PM.
The hunters blind took a lot of time and work to make, it was just inside the private property line on the Murphy Valley side of the hill.
On the way back we made it a loop hike and then came down the same canyon we went up, plus a few other canyons........
Bob Seago said his GPS showed 5.85 miles and 1900 feet of elevation gain and loss. A great day for hiking.
Wayne will lead us on hike Monday, meet at the VCPL at 9AM, bring your lunch, water and a few friends...
