Tough Hikes resume next week:

Someone suggested that it's time for tough hikes to commence on Tuesdays.  Today is Tuesday, so let's wait for next week.  As we did last year, we will toughen you up gradually, moving up in altitude and distance week by week.

For me, it's important to go regularly (at least once per week).  People who join up on a 14er without weeks of preparation may either slow us up or embarrass those of us who have been following a preparatory pattern.

Once again, we'll take a few hikes to complete Fremont's Fatal Fourth.  Tomorrow at 9 a.m.-12, Stuart Bryan, the author of the book, will show me the cave area where he thinks stuff was stored after descending the mountain.  One of these stowing places was where Bill Williams and one of the Philadelphia Kern brothers died from a visit perhaps by Utes who objected to repeat trespassing.

Perhaps we'll do that fairly brief hike next week. 9 a.m. at Visitor Center on Tuesday.  We'll wade a creek or two.
