IT IS GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR FOR MUSHROOMING!!
We found huge numbers of King Bolete and Hawkswings, a few Puffball and only about a dozen Chanterelles. It may still be too early for the Chanterelles, will look again next time we are out.
We did find the old pack train trail that goes over the saddle and into the Park Cr. area; will scout it all the way on another day......too much to do in one day.
Doug is leading the hike Monday, meet at the VCPL at 9AM, bring a lunch, water , raingear and a friend.......
