Doug took us on another one of Freemont’s treks. This time we went up Pool Table Road and hike up to the top of the mountain. There were some trails, but mostly we bushwhacked our way to the top.
Starting out on a pretty good trail.
We followed Longs Creek for a while.
Berdelle and Melinda making their way through the dead fall.
We were going uphill and needed several breaks along the way. Berdelle, Melinda, Wayne O, Wayne M, Rob, Doug.
Then we came to the boulder field and all of a sudden the dead fall wasn’t so bad.
Finally we got to the top of Pool Table and stopped for a lunch break. Notice the dark cloud in the background. That got us moving again.
We hiked to the top of the hill on the right.
More boulders!
Wayne found a good way down, more grass than rocks.
We hiked in a circle and came out at jeep road 613. The rain and hailed started shortly after this photo was taken.
Death Camus, a poisonous flowering plant that we saw in several locations.
