started out to hike the Shallow Cr. trail but ended up hiking the Miners Cr. trail instead; due to confusion on my part....but it worked out OK. We hadn't hiked this trail for several years due to the difficult stream crossings, but they have put in 2 bridges to make it easier. We crossed one difficult crossing and some folks decided not to risk it so we split up. We went up about 2 1/2 miles to a sunny spot among the rocks and had our lunch. On the way back out we cut some poles and built up the difficult crossing to where it is now an easy crossing for the next folks. The Aspen are simply beautiful, nothing else to say about them........
We will hike the real Shallow Cr. trail next week, the colors should still be great so meet at the VCPL before 9AM, bring lunch, water, camera and a friend.
