Hope Cr. trail from the Wilderness boundary on up for 2 miles

As you can see, we had to leave the chainsaw behind at the wilderness boundary, using the 2 person (not man) saw and axes to clear the downed trees. The ladies combined their efforts very efficiently in order to move the bigger logs and kept up with the sawyer effort as well. We cleared the trail to just below the large park, right before you reach the switchbacks before we decided we had "had enough for one day"...................as Pat expressed it, " nobody has gotten hurt and we have done a good day's work, lets stop while we are ahead"- everyone agreed.

It was a lot of hard work, but very gratifying, knowing that our efforts will enable others to enjoy our great country. Some hikers with dogs thanked us as we were working................

Next Tuesday, lets try to hike down from the Metroz lake area to the highway using the Trout Cr. trail most (about 7 miles) of the way; it is 9 miles, mostly down hill. Those not wanting to hike that far can hike around the Goodrich Peak and bring the trucks down to the highway and pick us up if they would like to do that........we will decide for certain WHEN WE MEET AT 8AM AT RICKLES PARK. BRING YOUR LUNCH, WATER AND A FRIEND..........
