Welcome, summer hikers. We're glad to have you with us--some new; some here for another glorious season. The diversity of ages (12/13 - 80s) was fun
Wayne led us up a beautifully designed old logging road and trail into two clearings. The second opening showed off Del Norte Peak dramatically.
Dennis Shepherd will lead a hike on Tuesday as I go to a museums meeting. He will probably do another on Thursday.
If you have little to big kids visiting, there will be a Chapel of the South Fork kid's hike on Wednesday morning (open to all--parents and grandparents as well). Again--9 a.m. at the Visitor Center.
Next week's schedule: Monday: Wayne leads a gentle hike Tuesday: I lead a 3-mile walk up Del Norte Peak. It's 12,400' at the top, so bring good lungs.Thursday: Dennis leads a surprise hike--always a nice surprise!
All start at 9 a.m., leaving from the Visitor Center in South Fork.
