Lake Fork Trail Cleanup

We started at the top of the Tie Hill/Lake Fork trail, 5 of us going down the trail with a chainsaw and loppers.  Linda M. and Barbara took the vehicles down to the bottom of the trail and started up to meet us.

Wayne's saw wouldn't run so my saw was the tool of choice.  I had installed a new carburetor, fuel lines and primer bulb last week to correct a fuel supply problem.  It refused to run at the higher altitude until making adjustments to the carburetor, then it ran OK. FOR ABOUT AN HOUR!  After that it was a pain in the neck.  We were able to clear about 2.5 miles of the trail before giving up and headed for the truck.

WANTED! A NEW LIGHTWEIGHT 16 TO 20 INCH GAS CHAINSAW, CONTACT WAYNE OR DENNIS!!

We ran onto the campers 3 miles down the trail, they had come up from the bottom and were very appreciative of our clearing the lower part of the trail.

Thanks a million to Wayne & Linda M., Ryan, Lloyd & Barbara and Linda C. for their help on a hot day.  It was very warm and dirty work. I didn't take any pictures of the deadfalls, after you've seen a couple they all look alike.  And I was tired.........

Come Monday and join us for a NON WORKDAY HIKE, enjoy the opportunity while you can.

Dennis
