Our hike today was a "multi-tasking" event; One group (Northenders) hiked from the north end to the south end; another group (Southenders) hiked from the south end to the north end. The last group (roundtrippers) hiked from the north end to the south end and back to the north end( they were moving so fast I didn't get a picture of them)..............
The trail climbed 1800 feet in elevation from the north to the south and about 800 feet from the south to the north.
The trail was 5.6 miles to 6.1 miles long, depending on whose GPS you looked at. It was a grand hike and lots of fun for everybody, we even found some puffball mushrooms to collect.
We will hike Thursday, meet at the VCPL by 9AM, bring your lunch, water, raingear, ORANGE VEST, and some friends.
