Hikers above Del Norte

The Del Norte/BLM trail system led 8 of us to the top of the bluffs overlooking the immense Rio Grande Valley (a.k.a. Valle de San Luiz).  The looking was good, decorated with occasional snow clouds.  We heard several exclamations of "beautiful, spectacular, wonderful."  We saw someone--maybe Lloyd--strolling on top of the D mountain. We used binoculars but couldn't identify the stroller.

The late spring time here features spectacular cactus blooms  and flowering shrubs, along with diverse green grasses.  It's worth another hike; I'll check on the timing.

With the return of snowfall, we may have some more chances to use our snowshoes in March.  We welcome new folks to join our 10-12 hearty winter hikers who gather at the Visitor Center in South Fork before 10 a.m. on Mondays.  No charge. No dogs. No barefooted hikers (especially in cactus country).
