Beaver mtn hike 8-24-15

Wayne led 16 hikers down and then up to a high point for a leisurely lunch and hike.  The burned area is being reclaimed by aspens where there is adequate moisture, but not up on the dry ridges. Most of the wildflowers are gone, only a few yarrow and daisies still are in bloom, but the rose hips are ready for picking if you like rose hip tea............
Willow Creek continues to flow over the road in its new channel, a couple more years and the road will probably be washed out completely.
Doug has a great hike lined up for Wednesday, be sure to check it out.  The Thursday hike will be to San Francisco lakes below Bennett Peak.

FRIDAY NIGHT WILL BE OUR MOONLIGHT OUTING ON SHAW MESA AT 630PM.  WAYNE AND LINDA WILL BE OUT OF TOWN SO WE WILL NEED A PERSON TO BRING FIREWOOD AND START THE FIRE.  ALSO WILL NEED ANOTHER FOLDING TABLE. MARY & I WILL BRING THE BRATS, DOGS, DRINKS AND PAPER PRODUCTS AS USUAL.
COME UP AND ENJOY FOOD, FUN AND FELLOWSHIP IN OUR GREAT OUTDOORS.......

Dennis
