Thanks to the collaboration of Dennis and Ken Frye, we trained our eyes to recognize ancient rock art in the ridges of Ratón Creek, SE of our county seat.
We enjoyed the company of Caren Kerschner, a dedicated rock art sleuth, and Kristi from Del Norte.
Dennis will fill in with pictures, along with these.
We'll hike again on Monday (more or less easy) and Tuesday (a little steeper). Dennis will write about Thursday.
And then, it will be November! It couldn't be nicer than today's sunny skies and dry boots.
